Principal Architect & Founder
Courtney received her Honours Bachelor Degree and Professional Diploma in Architectural Practice from Dublin School of Architecture in Bolton Street, Dublin 1. She is a member of the Royal Architects of Ireland since 2015.
Having previously worked on many high profile projects in Ireland, U.K, Ukraine and New York, Courtney has over 10 years of experience in the industry and has worked as Project Architect on a wide range of architecture and interior projects, both domestic and commercial.
Courtney is particularly interested in residential design, its scale, level of detail and the personal and collaborative relationship established between architect and client.
Her designs have been featured in various design publications including Architecture Ireland, Plan, Construction Ireland as well as in The Irish Independent and Irish Times.
Courtney finds design inspiration from many varied sources, from her home in Georgian Dublin, her upbringing on the West of Ireland, as well as on her travels both in Europe and further afield. Her other interests in fashion, art and craft all play a part in her design process and approach to form and structure.
Courtney received a Highly Commended Award in 2020 for Creative Woman of the Year at The Irish Woman Awards. She has written design articles for the Sunday Independent, Irish Tatler and The Sunday Business Post.

SERVICES
As a studio, we offer a full stage architectural and interior design package from initial design concept to completion on site.
Our role as architect and designer covers the entire construction process from initial pre-design phase, through the planning process, to tender negotiations, contract administration and on site management during the construction stage. We specialise in residential design and provide a holistic design service covering exterior and interior design. We understand that each project is unique and we can offer tailored packages to suit your needs.

Project Architect
Aoife joined Courtney McDonnell Studio in 2021.
Aoife has extensive experience in residential design having previously worked in the sector for 5 years.
As a Waterford native, Aoife graduated with a B.Arch in Architecture from WIT in 2014 and later worked in Waterford Council as a graduate architect on their Economic Development team. She later received her Professional Diploma from UCD and is a member of the Royal Architects of Ireland since 2020.
Aoife is passionate about 3D design, helping clients visualise the proposal through computer modelling and visual renders. Aoife manages an array of small and large scale projects from design to on site completion.
Aoife is also a contributing author for publications such as Architecture Ireland and house + design since 2014.
JULIE MOLLOY
NCARB. B.ARCH
Project Architect
Julie joined Courtney McDonnell Studio in 2023, after spending 8 years in New York, working in Manhattan and Brooklyn on mixed-use, commercial interiors, and ground-up construction.
Julie is originally from Dublin and earned her B.Arch in Architecture from DIT, and is now a part-time Assistant Lecturer in TU Dublin for 4th Year Architecture Studio.
She has a keen interest in art, design, and photography, and enjoys creating illustrations in her spare time. She has more recently participated in pop-up art shows in the surrounding area.
