GOATSTOWN

Our proposal for this 1960s detached dwelling involves a complete reorganisation of the existing four-bedroom house and extending it in order to create new spacious living and sleeping spaces for a growing family with young children.

The orientation of the site demands careful consideration in relation to the order of spaces and the resulting design layout is a a reorientation to the side garden, turning its back on a North facing rear garden thus creating a south-west facing view to the front and side of the dwelling. The first floor extension provides a master ensuite which is linked to the master bedroom and walk in closet to the rear of the dwelling. A converted attic incorporates a new contemporary dormer window which providing a new office space and guest bedroom. The new volumes are individually defined in dark and light render.
